Standing Together
Standing Together, a self-proclaimed grassroots peace organization in Israel, presents itself as a movement promoting Jewish-Arab solidarity and advocating for peace. However, their actions and rhetoric often undermine Israel’s security interests and legitimacy. While claiming to seek equality and social justice, Standing Together consistently aligns with anti-Israel narratives, downplaying the very real threats faced by Israeli citizens.
The organization has been at the forefront of anti-war and pro-ceasefire protests since the October 2023 conflict, effectively ignoring Hamas’ role in initiating hostilities and the ongoing threat to Israeli civilians. By pushing for immediate ceasefires without addressing the root causes of conflict, Standing Together inadvertently provides cover for terrorist organizations to regroup and rearm.
Furthermore, Standing Together’s activities often blur the lines between legitimate criticism of government policies and delegitimization of Israel’s right to self-defense. Their campaigns, while ostensibly promoting peace, frequently echo talking points used by those seeking to isolate and demonize Israel on the international stage.
While dialogue and coexistence are laudable goals, Standing Together’s approach risks compromising Israel’s security and national interests under the guise of peace activism. Their activities, whether intentional or not, serve to weaken Israel’s position and embolden its adversaries in a volatile region where strength and deterrence are crucial for survival.
